Public scholar: Burcu Olgen
In the public space, how can artificial intelligence improve community experiences and lead to more efficient, ecological and sustainable interactions?
Burcu Olgen holds a doctorate from the Individualized Program, where she integrated artificial intelligence (AI), interactivity and education to create eco-didactic experiences in public spaces, fostering dialogues on environment and sustainability. She holds a bachelor's degree and a Master of Science in Interior Architecture from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University.
Burcu’s research explored interactive engagement modes in eco-art, digital art and gamification. She investigated how AI and digital interactivity can enhance public eco-didactic experiences, transforming cities into creative and humanitarian playgrounds that inspire curiosity, enthusiasm and proactive environmental action.
Her research was supported by a Concordia University Individualized PhD Fellowship and her work was published in international peer-reviewed journals and media outlets.
