The Withering of Human Rights
The half-century following the Second World War saw unprecedented progress in the advancement of human rights. In this century, however, the momentum has been lost to genocide, crimes against humanity, resurgent racism and other forms of dehumanizing discrimination. There is an urgent need to restore and strengthen human rights, and Canada can play a key role in that effort.
The Henri P. Habib speaker series features major political figures and was created in honour of Professor Habib who founded the Department of Political Science at Loyola College in 1961.
