Project description:

The study has three objectives: (1) to develop and apply a standardized data-collection protocol for wildlife mortality of small and medium-sized fauna to assemble baseline data for a stretch of Highway 10 between Bromont and Magog before the implementation of mitigation measures; (2) to improve the analysis of data collected about the use of nine existing crossing structures in the study area under Highway 10 by large and medium-sized fauna; (3) and to continue data collection about the use of four existing crossing structures and one modified culvert by small and medium-sized fauna. The address objective (1), we conducted wildlife mortality surveys along Highway 10 in summers 2019 and 2020 in a research vehicle at slow speed (30 km/hr).
