Program Coordinator Intern, Black Healing Centre

• Collaborate on the rollout of new programming, including building out agreed process improvements (speaker intake form, third-Friday scheduling, venue logistics);
• Participate in program scheduling and logistics for Community Care Practitioner (CCP)-delivered sessions including space bookings and practitioner calendar coordination;
• Collect and track attendance, participation, and session data across programs to support ongoing reporting needs;
• Collaborate with the Programming Manager on partner communications and meeting logistics, including preparation for partner meetings;
• All other tasks in support of program delivery and community engagement, as assigned by the Programming Manager.

You must be a Concordia student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program through the fall 2026 term.

• Essential:
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail (managing schedules, partner contacts, and logistics across multiple concurrent programs)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly for partner-facing coordination
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities with minimal day-to-day supervision
  • Comfort and cultural competency working within Black community spaces, with an understanding of and sensitivity to the populations BHC serves
  • English proficiency (spoken and written)
• Optional/Ideal:
  • French proficiency (an asset given BHC's Quebec-wide partnerships, including CIUSSS and provincial funders)
  • Prior experience in the community/nonprofit sector, ideally in mental health, wellness, or social services
  • Familiarity with basic data tracking tools (Excel/Google Sheets) for attendance and participation tracking
  • Experience or coursework in community health, social work, public health, or a related field
  • Discretion and comfort handling sensitive information, given the mental health context of BHC's programming

September 8, 2026 -  November 27, 2026 (12 weeks)

These dates could be negotiated between the intern and the host organization. Internships might be renewed for up to 3 terms if that is of interest to both the student and the host.

Note: Interns are invited to come work at SHIFT's co-working space (LB-145) between 10-4 throughout the work week.

Independence: This role is well suited to students who enjoy taking initiative and learning through hands-on experience. Students will have the opportunity to independently manage projects and contribute meaningfully to the organization's work.

Support: You can expect regular check-ins, ongoing feedback, and readily available support from your supervisor.

240 hours total, 20 hours a week
