Implementing the Action Plan
Turning strategy into action
The Sustainability Action Plan 2026-30 provides a coordinated framework for advancing sustainability across the university over the next four years.
- Each action identifies a lead unit responsible for advancing the work and, where appropriate, collaborating partners that contribute to implementation.
- This coordinated approach supports sustainability across campus operations, teaching and learning, research and community engagement.
- Implementation is supported through in-kind resources and organizational capacity to advance the actions identified in the plan.
Governance and accountability
Implementation of the Action Plan is guided by Concordia’s sustainability governance framework, which provides oversight, supports collaboration and promotes accountability across the university community.
Regular assessment will help:
- Track implementation
- Communicate achievements
- Identify opportunities to strengthen sustainability performance over time

Monitoring progress
Progress on the Sustainability Action Plan will be reviewed regularly, with annual updates shared to promote transparency and accountability.
Ongoing monitoring will support informed decision-making and allow the university to respond to emerging opportunities and evolving institutional priorities while continuing to advance its long-term sustainability commitments.
