The ISO is hiring!

The International Students Office is looking for two Student Engagement and Volunteer Coordinators for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year (candidates must be available for Summer 2026, Fall 2026, and Winter 2027).

Scope: This position plays an integral part in executing the ISO social events and volunteering programming.

Duties Include:

  • Plan, execute, host, and participate in ISO social activities
  • Provide support at orientations and workshops (help with the event preparation, keep registration lists, compile stats, and keep track of feedback forms)
  • Engage international students and promote ISO events through various media platforms such as Instagram, as well as in person during tabling events (Volunteer Fair, etc.)
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers (when required)
  • Research and propose event ideas that would be interesting for international students
  • Write social activities reports

Student Engagement and Volunteer Coordinators must also:

  • Be eligible under the Work Study Program (under the I-International category) and maintain eligibility while employed in the same status under which he/she was hired (if you are not eligible for the Work-Study program, we cannot hire you).
  • Maintain a high academic standing (GPA of at least 3.0)
  • Be available to work 15-20 hours per week on average
  • Result-oriented and passionate about community engagement
  • Have strong oral and written English communication skills for in-person interactions and follow-up emails
  • Knowledge of spoken and written French is desirable
  • Have great leadership skills – public-speaking skills are an asset
  • Have outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Have excellent organizational skills
  • Possess good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms
  • Have the ability to recognize and respect people’s diversity, individual differences, and perspectives
  • Must have outstanding teamwork abilities

What do you expect the student(s) to gain from this Work-Study experience and exposure in your area?

In this role, a student will gain experience solving problems requiring transdisciplinary solutions and sensitivity. It will also give exposure to planning all aspects of social programming for international students and provide an opportunity to innovate and think creatively.

Who is not eligible for the Student Engagement and Volunteer Coordinator position:

  • Students who will be completing their studies prior to the Winter 2027 academic term.
  • Co-op (graduate and undergraduate), C-Edge & ACE students.
