Meet Marc Dikranian

I'm a student graduating (soon) in Finance and entering the world of Capital Markets. I love travelling, practicing/teaching karate, skiing, playing tennis and recently surfing! Going on exchange was a way for me to grow as a person while also opening my eyes to new possibilities. By being open minded I get to take in every moment and put myself out of my comfort zone - something that I strive to do every day.

My experience abroad

I recommend going on exchange because…it's an incredible experience to travel while studying (so not falling behind). It makes you challenge your status quo as everything is different and you must immerse yourself in the local lifestyle to make it count.

A tip I would give to students applying for exchange is…just do it! Go someplace you've never been and discover the world. It may be scary but you're not alone.

The coolest place I visited while on exchange was...China, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia, Australia... Highlight was definitely visiting an Armenian (my heritage) School in Sydney and connecting with people who share a similar background as me halfway across the world.

Anything else that you would like to share: Exchange is an incredible experience and once in a lifetime opportunity where you get to travel around the world while not falling behind in your studies. It may be scary and there is definitely a lot of uncertainty, but take the leap and you won't regret it. You'll meet incredible people, live experiences you never would've imagined and open your eyes to the world. I still can't believe I went on exchange - it feels like it was all a dream. Would I do it again? No questions asked!
