Boosting or busting: How can innovative technologies disrupt maladaptive social media use?
Iman Goodarzi (he/him) is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Marketing at the John Molson School of Business. His research explores how interventions—such as AI-generated nudges and haptic feedback—can mitigate the negative consequences of social media overuse, including addiction and excessive digital consumption. He is particularly interested in the characteristics of AI that can help individuals balance their digital lives while minimizing the harmful effects of social media overuse.
Through his work, Iman aims to deepen our understanding of the mechanisms underlying behavioral addiction and to design and evaluate interventions that effectively disrupt maladaptive digital habits.
Iman is also the founder of Chipset Solutions, a neuromarketing consultancy that has supported businesses in navigating competitive markets through the application of behavioral science and neuromarketing techniques.
