Simon Dubé: My inspiration

Sexuality will continue to find its way to technology and the stars.

Psychology: How can we integrate sexology into human-machine interaction and space programs?

Technology and space exploration are galloping ahead without properly considering certain intimate aspects of the human experience. Sexuality is universal and yet little attention and even fewer resources have been allocated to this critical area. There are still strong taboos around sex; and this is preventing the technology and space industries from having their own a #MeToo moment, and more broadly, having the necessary discussions that will ensure that products and space programs incorporate sexuality into their planning. These discussions are becoming particularly important as we move toward a world where we can build meaningful relationships with machines, as well as engage in long-term space exploration and settlement. To paraphrase Jeff Goldblum: “Sexuality finds a way,” and it would be best to prepare for it.
