Convocation 2013

Another academic year has successfully wrapped up with the graduation of 930 students from the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science. Congratulations on this milestone achievement! The two convocation ceremonies for the Faculty were held at the Salle Wilfried-Pelletier at the Place des Arts.

The valedictorians this year were Katrina Patterson from the Department of Building, Civil and Environmental Engineering and Mathieu Bouchard from Electrical and Computer Engineering. You can read more about them here.

As part of the ceremonies, Leonard Kleinrock received an Honorary Doctorate from the Faculty. Kleinrock is a distinguised professor of computer science at UCLA. He developed the mathematical theory of packet networks, the technology underpinning the Internet. He received his honorary degree on June 10 and gave a public lecture called "The Internet and Beyond" the following morning.
