Selene Bataille

Print Media

I use various print techniques, drawing, and photographic processes to explore notions of home, memory, and the body as it exists in space. I am interested in the concept of “home” as something stable and secure, while simultaneously impermanent and changing. With emphasis on pattern and domestic spaces, I examine the contradiction of outside vs. inside; how is the outside world replicated and contained within our interior worlds? My recent work explores the virtual worlds we inhabit on a daily basis, and how our experience of them can feel both intimate and isolating.
