Richard Compton is a professor in the Department of Linguistics at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM). He will present research focused on the nature of polysynthetic languages in the Inuit language, particularly in the dialects of Eastern Canadian Inuktitut. They include subjects such as lexical and functional categories, nominal incorporation, verbal agreement, linearization and word formation.
