Position description
The Centre for Continuing Education at Concordia University provides part-time employment to a range of subject-matter experts to teach in short-target courses and programs. Teaching tasks include the preparation of course and course plan, delivery of course, evaluating student performance and grading student work and grade submission. Instructors attend departmental meetings and attend professional development training activities related to the program.
Course description and learning outcomes
Adobe Illustrator is a recognized ‘must have’ skill for people working in a wide range of creative areas. This course is designed to teach students how to use industry-standard drawing tools, flexible color controls, and professional type controls to help capture ideas and experiment freely, while time saving features such as easier- to-access options allow work to be done quickly and intuitively.
Learning Outcomes:
- Learn the basic and more advanced features of Adobe Illustrator
- Familiarize yourself with industry-standard digital drawing tools and techniques, type and colour controls
- Develop your skill at creating illustrations, text effects and line art
- Increase your ability to express yourself creatively in a digital medium
- Create portfolio worthy illustrated work.
- Create corporate identities, logos and icons.
Qualifications and assets:
- Education: Bachelor of Fine Arts with a Major in Graphic Design with experience in Adobe Digital Graphics or equivalent
- Industry experience: 5 years relevant work experience
- Teaching experience: 3 years relevant teaching experience
