Fees, discounts & refunds
Tuition fees
Concordia Continuing Education does not have differential tuition fees. Tuition fees are the same for all students admitted to our courses and programs.
Concordia Continuing Education tuition fees are due at the time of registration. Interest charges may apply to late payments.
Loyalty discount
Students receive a 10% discount on their Concordia Continuing Education course or workshop tuition fees if they meet any of the following criteria:
- They have completed a continuing education, undergraduate, or graduate course at Concordia University
- They have completed a workshop at Concordia Continuing Education.
- They have completed a language proficiency test at the Concordia Language Test Centre
As part of the application process for an intensive program, you are required to make a non-refundable deposit before paying the full tuition fee. The loyalty discount is not applicable to this deposit. However, it is applicable to the full tuition fee once you are accepted into the program.
The loyalty discount does not apply to language proficiency test fees at the Concordia Language Test Centre.
Tax receipts
Annual tuition tax receipts for Educational Tax Credits (Federal T2202 and Provincial Relévé 8) are available on or before February 28 each year for the course fees paid in the previous taxation year. Access your tax receipts in the Student Centre.
Refund policy
General rules
University cancellations: If Concordia Continuing Education cancels a program, course, or workshop due to low registration, you will receive a full refund.
Attendance: Missing classes does not count as a cancellation and does not trigger a refund.
Deadline to drop: You cannot drop any course after 70% of its duration has passed.
Drop or swap a course online through the Student Centre or by writing to Concordia Continuing Education at cce@concordia.ca.
- Before the first class: Full refund, minus a $75 fee per course.
- Under 10% of course hours passed: 50% refund.
- Over 10% of course hours passed: No refund.
Withdrawal or drop/swap requests must be submitted to Concordia Continuing Education by email at cce@concordia.ca. Tuition deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Withdrawing from the program
Before the first class: Full refund, minus the program deposit.
Within the first week of class: 50% program refund.
Dropping/swapping a course within the program
Before the first class: Full course refund, minus the course’s portion of the deposit.
Under 10% of the program’s hours have passed: 50% course refund.
After the first week of class: No refund.
Cancellation requests must be submitted to Concordia Continuing Education by email at cce@concordia.ca.
15+ days before the workshop’s start date: Full refund.
Under 15 days before the workshop’s start date: No refund.
Fees for other services

Concordia Continuing Education students may request re-evaluation of their final grade. Requests must be submitted to cce@concordia.ca within 30 days following the end of their course. Such requests must meet the criteria for re-evaluation, which will be provided during the course.

Students who find themselves in one of the following situations may be entitled to write a supplemental exam:
- Students who were absent from a midterm or final exam, and can provide either a medical note from a physician or another form of documented proof to justify their absence.
- Students who have failed a course by ten (10) marks or less. Students who fail a course by more than ten (10) marks are not entitled to write a supplemental exam.
Requests for a supplemental exam must be sent to cce@concordia.ca. Once approved by Concordia Continuing Education, the supplemental exam must be written within one (1) week following the original midterm exam date or within four (4) weeks following the original final exam date. If these timelines are not met, a Did Not Write (DNW) notation will be recorded on the student’s transcript.
$55 per course
You can request exemptions from a course within a program if you have already completed an equivalent course at a postsecondary institution. Concordia Continuing Education may recognize prior learning if it meets the criteria below:
- Certificate programs: a maximum of one course (up to 40 hours)
- Diploma programs: 2-3 courses (up to 60 hours total)
- The prior course must be equivalent to or above the number of course hours of the current Concordia Continuing Education course
- Official academic transcript with a passing grade of 60% or higher is required
- Proof of learning with a course syllabus containing a detailed curriculum must be provided
Course content evolves over time. As a result, exemptions for courses completed in the past may not be granted after a certain period. Requests for exemptions must not exceed:
- 5 years for computer programming and technology programs (e.g. Python, SQL, AI, cybersecurity and data)
- 10 years for non-technical programs (e.g. business, HR, marketing, languages, etc.)
To request a course exemption, fill out the form below and submit it to cce@concordia.ca. Approved exemptions will appear on the transcript. Decisions are final, and the processing time is 10 business days.
$35 per course
You may request a waiver for a required course within a program if you are confident that a prior academic experience covers the course content. Waivers are granted at your own risk, since waived content may not be covered in other courses.
Waived courses will not appear on your transcript. To obtain a certificate or diploma, you must ensure that your waived course has been approved by Concordia Continuing Education.
To request a course waiver, fill out the form below and submit it to cce@concordia.ca along with proof of academic experience. Decisions are final, and the processing time is 5 business days.
$25 per document
Requests for duplicate diplomas or certificates must be submitted to cce@concordia.ca using the appropriate form below. Duplicates will be issued with the notation “Duplicate” on the bottom-left corner of your diploma or certificate.
