Programs
Why do people live the way they do? How do cultures shape our everyday lives? Sociology and anthropology invite you to explore these questions and develop your own perspective on the world.
Designed for curious, open-minded thinkers, these programs focus on understanding people, cultures and societies. You can study each discipline independently or combine them through interdisciplinary programs.
Undergraduate programs
The Department offers nine undergraduate programs in sociology and anthropology, with opportunities to explore a wide range of topics and approaches. Students enrolled in a major, specialization or honours program may also be eligible to participate in the Co-op program.
Co-op program
Through Co-op, undergraduate students alternate between academic study and paid work experience, applying what they learn in real-world settings.
Graduate programs
The Department offers five graduate programs for students interested in advanced study and research: four master's programs, including two thesis-based and two research-based options, as well as one doctoral program.
