Expo 67

The 40th anniversary of Montréal's Expo 67 in 2007 brought about renewed interest in the media experiments and cultural innovations of the 1960's.  What distinguished Expo 67 was the proliferation and multiplication of media technologies - more displays of photographic, cinematic and telematic technology were experienced than in any other previous World Exposition. The goal of this Working Group is to network researchers and graduate students over the course of the year to collaborate on the theme of Expo 67, and to identify potential paths of research and exhibition. Six seminars are planned to take place throughout the year to bring together researchers from different disciplines to discuss specific readings and themes, and encourage dialogue and collaboration.
