About the host organization
The Montreal Indigenous Community NETWORK is an umbrella organization based in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal that builds links between various segments of urban Indigenous communities. It supports the ecosystem of individuals and groups committed to improving the quality of life of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities living in the greater Montreal area, with members including community members and volunteers, nonprofit organizations, governments and institutions, and some businesses.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate in the creation and scheduling of social media content that reflects the NETWORK's mission and community activities.
- Participate in monitoring our social media pages and relaying community requests and messages to the appropriate team member.
- Support our finance manager with day-to-day administrative tasks, including processing invoices and reimbursement requests.
- Collaborate on the organization and upkeep of the office space, including ordering supplies and setting up simple systems to keep things running smoothly.
- Help bring the NETWORK's brand new office space to life by curating and displaying Indigenous art, posters, and cultural visuals that reflect our community and make the space feel welcoming and authentic.
- All other tasks in support of the NETWORK's communications and administrative team.
Assets and requirements
- You must be a Concordia student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program through the fall 2026 term.
- Students who self-identify as First Nations, Inuit or Métis will be prioritized for this role. Students not identifying as Indigenous in Canada should have a good understanding of Indigenous realities and allyship.
- Strong written communication skills and comfort using social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
- Organizational skills, attention to detail, and comfort with basic spreadsheets, given the invoice and reimbursement support tasks.
- Experience with content creation or graphic design tools (e.g. Canva), an eye for visual/decor, and familiarity with Indigenous art and culture are all assets but not required.
- Above all, we're looking for someone reliable, proactive, and able to juggle a few different types of tasks at once.
Duration
September 8, 2026 - November 27, 2026 (12 weeks)
These dates could be negotiated between the intern and the host organization. Internships might be renewed for up to 3 terms if that is of interest to both the student and the host.

Working style
Independence: This role offers a balance of independent work and guidance. Students will have opportunities to take ownership of their work while receiving support as they build confidence, develop new skills, and contribute to the organization's work.
Support: You'll have scheduled opportunities for guidance and feedback, with additional support available as needed.
Hours
180 hours total, 15 hours a week
Remuneration
$3,750
