Trudeau Foundation Scholarship

Eligibility

  • To be eligible, you must be:
    • A Canadian student studying at a Canadian university.
    • A Canadian student studying at a foreign university.
    • A foreign student studying at a Canadian university.
  • At the time of application, you must be in the first or second year of your doctoral program.
  • Your field of study should be broadly related to the humanities and social sciences or human sciences and is directly relevant to the future of Canada.
  • Your doctoral work must relate to at least one of the Foundation's four major themes:
    • Human Rights and Dignity.
    • Responsible Citizenship.
    • Canada and the World.
    • People and their Natural Environment.

Application

The Foundation asks all applicants to apply directly via its application platform. The Foundation will review and assess all candidates who submit completed applications by the specified deadline.

To access the application form, you must create an account on the Foundation’s portal.

Applicants must demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and a high level of intellectual ability. These qualities will be assessed across your entire application, including transcripts and three letters of recommendation (your thesis supervisor, another academic referee and a non-academic referee).
