Merit Scholarship

Overview

Concordia Merit Scholarships play a vital role in supporting graduate students by allowing them to focus on their research and studies. These scholarships, awarded based on academic excellence and research potential, provide financial support that relieves students from the burden of financial constraints.

Eligibility

You must be a graduate student who has been admitted or is currently registered in a graduate research-based program at Concordia University.
For Master's students, you must be within the first two years of your program. For Doctoral students, you must be within the first four years of your program.

Value

Valued at $5,000 - $10,000 for one academic year.

Application and selection

As a prospective student seeking to benefit from the Concordia Merit Scholarship, you are advised to submit your admission application early, as the scholarship, application is integrated into the admission process. Your admission application will serve as your application for the scholarship.

For current students enrolled in a program, it is advisable to reach out to your Graduate Program Director (GPD) to inquire about the application procedure for the Concordia Merit Scholarship.

The selection of recipients for the Concordia Merit Scholarship is the responsibility of the respective programs.

Disbursement process

Scholarship payments are issued five (5) working days after the DNE date of each term, once full-time registration is confirmed, unless otherwise specified in your award notification.
Payments are made directly to your students’ account and applied to outstanding tuition and fees. If a credit balance remains in the account, you must submit a cheque refund request via their Student Center.
Cheques are automatically mailed to your address on file within 10 business days after you have requested your refund.
