CMA CGM Excellence Fund for Education

Overview

Launched in 2022 by CMA CGM Chairman Rodolphe Saadé, the CMA CGM Excellence Fund for Education supports high‑potential students through competitive scholarships in key fields for the Group, such as engineering, data and AI, sustainability, management and finance. The ambition is to foster a new generation of leaders who can contribute to the transformation of global shipping, logistics and international trade within CMA CGM and beyond. The CMA CGM Excellence Fund for Education supports outstanding incoming U.S. and international research-based master’s and PhD students in select Concordia programs. Awarded based on academic excellence and financial need, the scholarship provides funding for two years at the master’s level and four years at the PhD level, covering tuition fees and living expenses.

Each year, one PhD student and four master’s students will be supported. A portion of these awards is reserved for Lebanese citizens residing in Lebanon at the time of application, while the remaining awards are open to eligible international candidates. All scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence and financial need.

Eligibility

You must be a U.S. and international citizen (with the exception of French and Belgian citizens, who are ineligible).
You must not hold a dual citizenship that includes Canada, France or Belgium.
You must be admitted into one of following academic programs:

- Information and Systems Engineering
- Information Systems Security
- Management

- Mathematics and Statistics
- MBA

Value

$25,000 per year for two years for research-based master’s students
$29,000 per year for four years for doctoral students

Application and selection

As a prospective student seeking to benefit from this scholarship, you are advised to submit your Concordia admission application early, as the scholarship application is integrated into the admission process. Your admission application will serve as your application for the scholarship.

If you are applying as a Lebanese candidate, indicate Lebanon as your “Country of Citizenship” in your admission application. You must be residing in Lebanon at the time of application.

The selection of recipients for the CMA CGM Excellence Fund for Education is the responsibility of the respective programs.

Disbursement process

Scholarship payments are issued five (5) working days after the DNE date of each term, once full-time registration is confirmed, unless otherwise specified in your award notification.
Payments are made directly to your student account and applied to outstanding tuition and fees. If a credit balance remains in the account, you may request a refund by cheque through your Student Centre.
Cheques are automatically mailed to your address on file within 10 business days after you have requested a refund.
