Concordia Health Services

Health Services has been providing gender-affirming care for the past eight years. As of August 2025, our primary physician specializing in gender-affirming care will be on sabbatical.

As a result, we are unable to initiate hormone therapy (HRT) at this time. Health Services is actively working to recruit physicians specializing in gender-affirming care and will update our webpage when additional services are available.

Services currently available at Health Services:

  • Maintenance of ongoing prescriptions, depending on physician availability
  • Hormone injection administration and teaching for self-injection
  • Post-surgery care (after top surgery)
  • Referrals to specialists or clinics that initiate HRT (e.g., endocrinologists)
  • Walk-ins or appointments with a nurse to orient patients to appropriate resources

Additional supports at Concordia

  • The Centre for Gender Advocacy is an independent, student-funded organization at Concordia that provides support and services to the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
  • The Gender Health Hub is a Concordia Student Union service that connects you to holistic, feminist and trans-inclusive health and wellness services.

Community resources

Please address any questions about insurance coverage to your insurance provider.

  • GrS MontrĂ©al is a private clinic specializing in gender-affirming surgeries. Some patients receive post-operative care at Concordia Health Services.
  • The Trans Patient Union is a community organization by and for trans and non-binary patients in Quebec. They offer information about the medical transition process and healthcare provider lists.
  • Aids Community Care Montreal (ACCM) maintains a Montreal trans resource list, which includes feedback from patients about cost for services, access, wait times, and more.
