Are you planning on working this weekend during off-hours? Here are a few simple tips to keep in mind whenever you decide to work on campus outside the normal hours of operation:
Concordia is an urban campus
- While university buildings are continuously monitored, Concordia’s Security Team cannot be everywhere at all times. Nor can they control who enters university buildings during regular operating hours. Remain alert and mindful of your surroundings.
If you see something, say something
- Did you see something odd or suspicious? Is someone behaving strangely? Call Security immediately at 514-848-3717 or ext. 3717. It’s up to everyone to keep the campus safe.
Call Security in an emergency
- Calling security to report an emergency situation? Call 514-848-3717 or ext. 3717 and dial “1” for immediate assistance.
Download Alertus +
- The Alertus + app allows you to receive emergency campus alerts on your cellphone or mobile device. Make sure to keep your app up-to-date to ensure it works during an emergency situation.
Consider training
- Concordia’s Security Team offers Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training workshops to teach you how to deal with early intervention and nonphysical methods for managing disruptive behaviour.
Brush up on Concordia policy
- Make sure you are aware of Concordia’s policy regarding working outside the hours of operation or in isolation.
