As the global South is rapidly urbanizing, urban housing has become both a challenge and a new frontier of financial accumulation. What are the major trends in housing in the global South and their implications?

In this round table panel discussion, we will unpack significant developments in housing in the global South. The conversation will use housing as an entry to unpack many issues, including housing supply and affordability, financialization of housing, housing and climate change, and narratives of a breakdown of social ties in new forms of settlements. Concordia’s Public Scholar and Ph.D. candidate Hone Mandefro will moderate the discussion.
