Hypothèses Lecture - Déconstruire le regard : Feminisms and the Global South

Hypothèses is a interuniversity lecture series by and for graduate students in art history, with the aim of stimulating and disseminating emerging research in the discipline. The program is bilingual and organized by a team of graduate students from the Art History departments of Concordia, UQAM, UdeM, and McGill. This year, our committee includes Anna Hoddé from Concordia, Clara Turpin from UQAM, Lucile Cordonnier from McGill and Valentine Desmorat from the University of Montreal. 

The next lecture titled Déconstruire le regard : Feminisms and the Global South features Université de Montréal's MA student Camila De Oliveira Savoi and UQAM PhD student Farah Jemel. The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Abigail Celis from Université de Montréal.

In addition to the Hypothèses conferences, the team also produces a podcast series [Annexes]. This podcast series, which has been running for three years, asks young scholars to discuss their research and its relevance to current issues in the fields of art history and museum studies. [Annexes] is a space to discuss the themes and methodologies structuring the students’ theses, but also to discuss the relevance of graduate studies in art history, the status of the academic or professional environments, and the social and political issues of research in the arts field.
