Funding
Funding possibilities for master's students come in two basic forms: external and internal to the university.
External funding
Governmental funding is both more generous and more prestigious than internal funding, but you must meet their requirements. You can apply the year before you begin your master's or within the first term. See their sites for full details:

The School of Graduate Studies offers helpful information on external funding.
Internal funding
From the university
MA applicants who apply for fall admission by the February 1 deadline are automatically considered for funding on a competitive basis.
From the department
The Department's Carol Lee Price MA Scholarship is an award for women international students with a demonstrated interdisciplinary background.
Research assistantships
There are also funds available within the Department, in the form of Research Assistantships (RAs) from individual faculty members. See our job opportunities page for open RA possibilities; you can also inquire with individual faculty members.
