Funding
Funding possibilities for master's students come in two basic forms: external and internal to the university.
External funding
Government agencies
Governmental funding is both more generous and more prestigious than internal funding, but you must meet their requirements. You can apply the year before you begin your master's or within the first term. See their sites for full details:

Awards
From the university: MA applicants who apply for fall admission by the February 1 deadline are automatically considered for funding on a competitive basis.
From the department: The Department's Carol Lee Price MA Scholarship is an award for women international students with a demonstrated interdisciplinary background.
Conference funding
The Department of Philosophy offers $300 per year for conference travel. If you submit a paper to an academic conference and it is accepted, you can apply for funding to cover the costs of presenting at the conference. Students can receive $150 per year for conference travel when they are attending and not presenting.
Forward your acceptance email to philosophy.chairassistant@concordia.ca to start the process.
Note: Approved amounts are paid after the conference in the form of reimbursements for allowable expenses (original receipts and boarding passes must be provided).
Job opportunities at Concordia
Current Philosophy MA students should make sure they are subscribed to the graduate student email list to receive job postings and other professional and academic opportunities.
Teaching Assistantships (TAships): Only Concordia students can serve as TAs. We post available TAships a couple of months before the beginning of each term. You can also contact other relevant departments to see if they have TAships available, and check the job postings in the FRIS TA Menu.
Research Assistantships (RAships): Available RAships are posted in FRIS. Current Philosophy MA students can ask their supervisors if they have any RA positions available.
