MA in Economics

This program offers a strong academic foundation for both career advancement and further studies, including doctoral research. Students from across Canada and around the world benefit from a diverse learning environment and have the option to enhance their experience through the MA Co-operative Program, gaining practical skills through placements in financial firms, corporations and government agencies. 

Co-op program for graduate students

The Department of Economics is the only department within the Faculty of Arts and Science offering the Co-op option to its MA students. 

PhD in Economics

Pursuing a PhD in Economics means developing deep expertise in your chosen field while working closely with leading researchers in areas like applied econometrics, labour, monetary and financial economics and game theory. Students will benefit from a strong research network with access to advanced courses across Montreal’s top universities and learn from faculty whose work appears in some of the most respected journals in the field.

Graduate Diploma in Economics

Offering a broad introduction to macroeconomics, microeconomics and econometrics, the graduate diploma is ideal for students pursuing further education or professionals exploring economics as a secondary field. In a world where economic insight is essential to addressing complex issues, the program equips students with the analytical tools needed to engage critically with today’s challenges.
