MBA 50th
Anniversary Award

Our goal

To create an award to reward and encourage deserving MBA students, in honour of the 50th anniversary of the program.

Help us support our next-generation leaders!

Our project

Concordia’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree has been integral to the John Molson School of Business (JMSB) portfolio for 50 years. We’ll celebrate this milestone anniversary on Saturday, September 22, 2018, during Homecoming with a special lecture and cocktail followed by a celebratory dinner. MBA alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends will be invited to mingle, share memories and connect with classmates and other MBA alumni.

To mark this occasion, the MBA 50th Anniversary Award will come to life through donations from alumni, faculty, staff and friends.

MBA 50th Anniversary Award

About the program

The MBA program takes a practical, hands-on approach to business education. Students acquire the skills that employers are looking for — both in the classroom and out in the field through real business case projects and experiential learning options. Students can choose to focus on a specific area or explore different aspects of management. Cross-disciplinary themes help students choose their electives to create unofficial specializations.

Did you know that MBA students:

  • Run the MBA Society, working to enhance the MBA experience by providing opportunities for professional growth beyond the classroom?

Our internationally renowned faculty members constantly push the boundaries of business research, publishing widely in peer-reviewed journals and holding senior positions on editorial boards. Many are active and successful in the business world, bringing their experience into the classroom every day.

JMSB students make lifelong connections to a strong MBA alumni network of leaders around the world. Many of JMSB’s 50,000 alumni — 4,500 are MBA graduates — maintain connections with the university as advisors, employers, volunteers and guest lecturers. This provides a real advantage and benefit to our MBA students. Over 87 per cent find employment within three months of graduation.

MBA 50th Anniversary Award

"Getting my MBA at JMSB has changed my life. The teachers and courses helped elevate my business knowledge and skills, while my colleagues, with whom I forged lifetime friendships, gave me insight, support, and camaraderie. The clubs and services within the program and university are top-notch and the school provides you the support you need to succeed."

-   El Nasser Amin, MBA 16

Why we need your help

Financial awards have a great impact in a student’s life: fewer hours at a part-time job, more time for studying or research — and a feeling of encouragement and motivation to excel in their studies.

Not only would the MBA 50th Anniversary Award support students financially, it would show them their hard work is recognized. It would demonstrate the Concordia community’s commitment to helping them make the most of their university experience.

Help us bring this award to fruition by giving generously today.

A few words from some of our MBA alumni:
