On May 19, the department of Health, Kinesiology, and Applied Physiology celebrates the 8th edition of the Born to Run scholarship fundraiser, the first in-person event since 2019.

Born to Run was created to celebrate the life of David H. Jones, an Athletic Therapy Laboratory instructor in the Department of Exercise Science (now the Department of Health, Kinesiology and Applied Physiology) for more than 20 years. He passed away suddenly in 2014.

The scholarship is intended to encourage and reward students currently enrolled in the Specialization in Athletic Therapy at Concordia who have demonstrated a strong commitment to the discipline and who are actively pursuing a career in the field.

This event follows the third annual CREATE conference, the only academically-oriented event in Canada designed to host both professional and student researchers to disseminate their knowledge creation and network among peers in the field of athletic therapy.

Participants are invited to meet at 4:30 PM at the de Maisonneuve field entrance on Loyola campus.

Our run will be eight kilometers, in honour of the event’s eighth anniversary.

We will close with a short Zumba session, followed by refreshments, and the announcement of this year’s winner.

You can register here.

See you there!

Be sure to also check out the Concordia Research and Education for Athletic Therapy Excellence Conference (CREATE) 2022 happening on May 19.
