Textbooks

Both print textbooks and eTextbooks will be available from the Concordia Book Stop for the Fall Semester, in collaboration with Concordia’s new partner Follett Canada. Login to MyConcordia to use the Textbook Adoption Tool, as usual.

The Concordia Co-op Bookstore will offer digital only textbooks for the Fall.  A new online platform is coming soon!  For now, send orders or inquiries to director.coopbookstore@gmail.com

Please note that Library copies of print textbooks will NOT be available to students while the Library’s Course Reserve Rooms remain closed. It is also important to be aware that over 80% of existing course textbooks used at Concordia are NOT available to libraries in an electronic version. Most textbook publishers will not sell E-textbooks to libraries so all students must purchase their own copies in this environment.

Consider adopting an Open Textbook which are free and accessible for all students, many of whom may be struggling financially. Students retain access to open textbooks, and they can be downloaded, printed, copied as needed. Consult the Library’s OER Guide for recommendations and assistance. You may also consider using “regular” E-books (not marketed as textbooks) from the Library’s collection, many of which do allow for multiple user access. Check with your subject librarian to be sure.

Books, articles, videos, etc.

The Library offers a vast digital collection of books, articles, streaming videos, etc. that you may use in your courses. Chapters from print books may also be scanned and made available to your students. Use the Library’s online Course Reserves service to curate all of these materials for your course.

The Concordia Bookstore can also compile Coursepacks and/or ePacks for your course, customized to your specifications and available for sale to your students. Contact coursepacks@concordia.ca

***Both the Library and the Bookstore will ensure copyright compliance for these services.

Your subject librarian is available for support in identifying suitable course materials.
