Admissions
Concordia’s application process is simple and completed on our website. All you need are your high school transcripts, no ACT or SAT scores required.
Here is a list of certificates that we recognize as a minimum qualification for admission. For the admission averages for your program of interest, please consult our A-Z program list.
Note: Not all countries are listed. In general, if you have completed the level of education required to be admitted to a university in your home province, state or country — and you have achieved good grades — then you should be eligible to apply for admission to Concordia.

Applicants are admitted to the 120-credit Extended Credit Program (ECP). Transfer credits are awarded for HL courses with a score of 4 or higher. Students are eligible to receive 9 transfer credits for up to 3 courses, for a maximum of 27 transfer credits. Transfer credits and course exemptions will be listed in your offer of admission.

Applicants are admitted to the 120-credit Extended Credit Program (ECP). Transfer credits are awarded for Spécialité courses with a score of 12 or higher. Students are eligible to receive 12 transfer credits for up to 2 Spécialité courses completed in Terminale for a maximum of 24 transfer credits. Transfer credits and course exemptions will be listed in your offer of admission.
The baccalauréat technique is accepted.
The baccalauréat professionnel is not accepted.
Students completing the baccalauréat français in Quebec, must submit the results from the compléments d’enseignement québécois.

Requirements by qualification type
A-levels: Two A-level exams required. You may apply with your final grades from lower sixth form (include AS-level and iGCSE/GCSE/O-level exam results, if any) and predicted A-level results.
AS-levels: Four AS-level exams required. You may apply with your grades from the last two years of study (include iGCSE/GCSE/O-level results, if taken). Include predicted or final AS-level results, as available.
GCSEs or equivalent: Must have one year of higher education at an accredited institution after completing iGCSEs, GCSEs or O-levels, such as a pre-degree diploma from a university. Include your final GCSE (or equivalent) exam results and your higher education grades to date when you apply.
BTEC: Level 3 diploma or extended diploma are accepted and considered to be equivalent to at least two A-levels. Students can be considered for admission to a program in a related subject area. Include grades from the last two years of study and BTEC progress grades or final results, as available. If taken, include any other exam results: A-level, AS-level or iGCSE/GCSE/O-level.
Course requirements
Students applying to programs with math or science requirements may be admissible without A-level exams in these subjects, based on AS-level or GCSE (or equivalent) exam results. Students should include all their exam results from GCSE (or equivalent) onwards to support their application.

The standard entry requirement ranges below are for students completing A-levels and can be used as a guide for those completing other British qualifications. These requirements are the typical results required and do not guarantee admission. Applicants missing some of the prerequisite courses may still be eligible for admission.

Transfer applicants from colleges and universities
If you’re interested in transferring to Concordia from another accredited university, we will consider your transfer application on the basis of both your university studies and your previous studies. The minimum grade for admission is a C however this varies. For the admission averages for your program of interest, please consult our A-Z program list.
Transfer credit
Academic credit may be awarded for university courses completed within an undergraduate degree program, certificate or independent study. The number of credits awarded depends on the character, quality and quantity of the work completed. A minimum of 45 credits, and in some cases 60 credits, must be taken at Concordia University to complete your degree.
Evaluation of transfer credit
Your Offer of Admission may have included general transfer credits. These may not all apply towards your program requirements. You can request specific course credit for courses equivalent to Concordia courses once you have received an Offer of Admission, paid the confirmation fee and have provided all the necessary documents, including official transcripts. You must submit your request for transfer credits within one year of starting your degree program.
Please consult the instructions on how to prepare and submit your transfer credit requests. These instructions differ depending on the Faculty or School in which your program is housed.
We treat each home-school case on its own merits. In some cases, an interview with a university official may be required. To apply, submit all supporting application documents (e.g. SAT and AP test scores) and transcripts from any academic institution attended. You must also include :
- A description of the home-schooling curriculum followed and measures of academic acquisition in the program
- A letter of intent explaining your academic background and why you are a good candidate for the program
- A letter from the home-educator detailing how the home-school program has prepared the applicant for university studies
- A letter of recommendation from an impartial source indicating the applicant’s readiness for university-level study

I was already working in commercial photography and really missed making tangible art. After meeting a few of Montreal artists who all graduated from Concordia, I really got excited about the thought of going back to school and studying an arts practice separate from what I do with work. I started researching courses that intrigued me and that’s how discovered the Studio Arts major in Print Media!
