Academic credit may be awarded for university courses completed within an undergraduate degree program, certificate or independent study. The number of credits awarded depends on the character, quality and quantity of the work completed. A minimum of 45 credits, and in some cases 60 credits, must be taken at Concordia University to complete your degree.
Evaluation of transfer credit
Your Offer of Admission may have included general transfer credits. These may not all apply towards your program requirements. You can request specific course credit for courses equivalent to Concordia courses once you have received an Offer of Admission, paid the confirmation fee and have provided all the necessary documents, including official transcripts. You must submit your request for transfer credits within one year of starting your degree program.
Please consult the instructions on how to prepare and submit your transfer credit requests. These instructions differ depending on the Faculty or School in which your program is housed.
Determine if you must include proof of English proficiency with your application.

Pursuing a BA in Communication Studies and Human Relations
I first thought about attending Concordia after meeting with recruiters at my high school in Vietnam. Everyone seemed friendly — and the university has a great reputation. Plus, my teachers recommended Concordia because it’s strong in my field.
The people here are nice and always trying to help. I feel very welcome and there’s a lot of interaction between students, faculty and staff.
I’m taking advantage of the opportunity to practice my French in Montreal. To learn a new language is acquire a whole different set of knowledge. It’s amazing how much you learn about a country’s culture and history, just by learning the language.

Graduating with a BCompSci in Web Services and Applications with Co-op (paid internships) in 2018
Life in Montreal is an explosion of so many different things! I’m absorbing all this culture everywhere I go. My classmates and my friends represent pretty much all the countries of the world. I’m learning so much about them and I’m learning so much about the world too. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.
I recommend Concordia because of Co-op: it really gives you a good start in your career. For IT and engineering, there’s a really good community at Concordia that will support you and even help you find jobs. I have friends who are working at Amazon and Microsoft and doing really well. I'm starting a full-time position in web development with Autodesk, one my Co-op employers, when I graduate this spring.
Colombo, Sri Lanka
Pursuing a BSc in Exercise Science with a Specialization in Athletic Therapy, a major in Biology and a minor in Psychology
I’m just about to finish an internship as an athletic therapist and I had to deal with a few hands-on situations. My program really prepares you. You can actually build who you want to be, from the ground up.
Living on campus in first year was amazing. I had a really good RA (residence assistant) and everyone on our floor hung out together. It was like having a small family away from home.
Pursuing a BEng in Electrical Engineering
Before moving here, I had never been outside my region of the country. But I knew I wanted to come to Canada because of the friendly and stable environment. From there, I looked at lifestyle and accommodation. That's what convinced me Montreal is the best city in Canada for students.
I chose Concordia specifically because of the reputation of its engineering programs, and the chance to get paid work experience. There's a lot of guidance available - a student mentor helped me with my resumé, and after that I started getting calls from employers.
Permission to live and study in Canada
If you’re not already a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, you can apply for your study visas as soon as you have an offer of admission from the university. Concordia’s International Students Office can help you every step of the way.
