Recognizes particularly noteworthy contributions by an individual to the study and understanding of the history of civil engineering in Canada, or civil engineering achievements by Canadian engineers elsewhere. Normally, the recipient will be an individual, not necessarily an engineer, but in special circumstances the award can be given to an organization. Measures of such noteworthy contributions include the quality of publications and the effectiveness of leadership in promoting the increased awareness of the history of civil engineering.
