Messages of congratulations

Read well wishes from Concordia's President and Vice-Chancellor, as well as the Chancellor.

Message from the President

As President and Vice-Chancellor of Concordia, it is my great pleasure to congratulate you and welcome you to our worldwide alumni family. You have worked hard to achieve this milestone, and we are honoured to be a part of your journey.

Concordia is a university that is committed to making a positive impact in the world. We recently launched PLAN/NET ZERØ, a comprehensive action plan to achieve carbon neutrality before 2040. This bold initiative demonstrates our commitment to sustainability and to creating a better future for all.

Our leadership in sustainability has also been amplified thanks to a $123-million grant from the Government of Canada’s Canada First Research Excellence Fund, the largest single research award in Concordia’s history. Announced in April 2023, this funding will allow us to continue to push the boundaries of knowledge and innovation in the field of sustainability, and to contribute to the global conversation on climate change.

As graduates of Concordia, you are now part of a network of more than 253,000 alumni who are making a real difference in the world. We encourage you to stay connected with us and with each other, and to continue to be a force for positive change.

Once again, congratulations on your achievements, and best wishes for your future endeavours.

Message from the Chancellor

Congratulations and welcome to the Concordia alumni family!

It is my privilege and honour to commend another cohort of Concordia graduates, not only as chancellor but also as a fellow alumnus.

I remember the mix of excitement, apprehension and pride as I embarked on the next phase of my life. And today, I stand as proof that the education and experiences Concordia offers can lead to great things.

Now that you have earned your degree, I want to welcome you to our worldwide network of alumni, a community of 253,000 graduates who have passed through our campuses and gone on to make significant contributions across a range of disciplines.

You now join a group of accomplished individuals who share a common bond with each other and with this university. I encourage you to stay connected with Concordia and with your former classmates. The bonds you have formed while here will prove invaluable as you move forward.

We will continue to provide you with opportunities to grow and develop, both personally and professionally. We will also be here to support you as you navigate the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

Once again, congratulations on your achievements, and welcome to the next phase of your journey.

You are now part of a community that is global, diverse and dynamic, and we are excited to see how you will make a difference in the world.

Jonathan Wener, C.M., BComm 71
