Do you prefer regular black coffee or a chai latte? Would you rather eat at a pub-style restaurant or grab a bite at a café? Concordia Food Services is looking to the university community to provide some answers to help determine their wants and needs post-2021.

It may seem strange to be thinking about food on campus while most are currently not onsite. Yet Sabrina Lavoie, Concordia’s executive director of budget planning and business development, sees this time as an opportunity to look forward, work together and re-energize campus food services.

As a result, Food Services has launched a survey — available in English and French  to all members of the Concordia community. The survey will gather information on Concordians’ food preferences, eating habits, food-related spending patterns and service expectation, among other related issues, to ensure they are involved with the future of food on campus.

“I want everyone to fill out this survey. We can’t provide what we don’t know about, so we’re reaching out to the community to give them a voice — we want people to be happy with the options we provide,” says Lavoie.

To encourage participation, everyone who fills out the survey will be entered into a draw for a chance to win one of six $50 gift certificates or one $200 gift certificate to Concordia’s Book Stop. The outlet offers a range of items from textbooks and university swag to electronics.

Those who fill out the survey will also be invited to participate in a focus group later in March. Open to all students, faculty and staff, the group will provide a forum to address specific needs and help further shape the food on campus.

Concordia will share all information gathered during the community consultation process.

Take the Concordia Food Services Survey, in English or French, today and be entered into a draw for a chance to win one of six $50 gift certificates or one $200 gift certificate to the Book.
