Drawing in ink and purple of St. James Anglican church in Cacouna, offering three different views of the church. Sketch of St James Anglican, Cacouna, by gracious permission of Robert Aubé.

The Canada Council is awarding Dr. Matthew Anderson a Research and Creation Grant of $24,700. This grant assists professional writers of fiction in completing a project.

With the help of the grant, Dr. Anderson will edit the final draft of his novel The Clergy House of Rest. The novel is a literary mystery set in Cacouna, Quebec, where the sweeping estuary, the tides, the whales, the Maliseet First Nation, and a small, eccentric anglophone population with roots reaching back to the founding of Rivière-du-Loup all contribute to an atmospheric plot.
