Discover the global learning opportunities at Concordia during Global Learning Day x Elsewhere! This day will have a series of panel discussions on the benefits of an international experience for students. There will also be a student fair to showcase students who have participated in international programs (e.g., exchange, field schools) or done international research abroad (e.g., Mitacs Globalink Research Awards).

Global Experiential Learning & Employability: The Benefits of an International Experience on your CV

This panel will discuss how employers view an international experience on a CV and the unique advantages an international experience gives employees in the workplace

Student Panel: Global Experiential Learning

Students will share how their experience abroad contributed to their academic studies and their personal development.

  • Alex Oster, Coordinator Student Engagement, Dean of Students Office      

  • Jimmy Barco Burrors, Ph.D. student, Building, Civil and Environmental Engineering, received the Mitacs Globalink Research Award for a research project in Mexico with the Universidad de Guanajuato 

  • Christine White, MA student, Art Education, Fine Arts participated in the New Music and Media Arts Field school in Mexico 

  • Andrew Keleny, Undergraduate student, Aerospace Engineering, participated in the Concordia Student Exchange program & International coop

  • Marco Meneghin, Ph.D. student, Film & Moving Image Studies, participated in the New Music and Media Arts Field School in Colombia

Faculty Panel: Value of Global Experiential Learning

The panel will discuss the value of a global experiential learning experience. Panelists will discuss why they lead these initiatives and the benefits they have seen to the students participating in experiential learning programs.

Faculty Panel: Research Collaboration - Standing out, stepping up!

The panel will discuss their international research collaboration and will examine how students can benefit from it!
