Every year, the Department awards high-achieving students awards and scholarships.
There are many opportunities to pursue awards and scholarships at Concordia University. Feel free to speak to your advisors and professors. Beyond the monetary incentive, receiving an award or scholarship is a great portfolio-builder!
Jean H. Picard Scholarship
The Jean H. Picard Scholarship gives a returning Political Science student an award of up to $1,000.
Eligibility
- The student must be enrolled in a Major or Honours in Political Science
- The student must be registered for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Requirements
The scholarship is awarded on the basis of:
- superior academic achievement
- a personal statement
- two reference letters (from university professors)

Zeidan Family Scholarship
The Department of Political Science offers two scholarships of up to $2,650 each to second or third year Political Science students (Major or Honours) who have successfully completed at least one course in Middle Eastern Studies.
Requirements
This award is recommended based on academic excellence, and a 3,000-word essay on the topic of Arab/Islamic Canadian relations.

Henry Habib Scholarship for Excellence in Political Science
The Henry Habib Diplomacy Accelerator [Global Governance Centre at Concordia] offers an award of up to $2,800 to a full-time student enrolled in a course of study leading to a BA in Political Science.
Eligible students are automatically considered for this award.
Political Science Department Travel Fund
Eligibility
- Currently registered in a political science BA
- In good academic standing
Students registered in a Bachelor’s program may receive one grant during their degree program.
