Advising & support
Get help navigating your studies in physics and making informed decisions throughout your academic journey.
All full- and part-time undergraduate students, as well as non-program and independent undergraduate students who are currently taking physics courses, can seek academic advising at any time during the term.
Undergraduate advisors guide students through program requirements, course selection and navigating academic or administrative processes.

In addition to departmental advising, students may also contact the Faculty of Arts and Science Student Academic Services for broader faculty-level support and student requests.
Forms, requests and resources
The Department of Physics provides access to internal forms and documents through its departmental Sharepoint site. These materials support common requests related to program changes and course planning.
Additional resources
Graduate advising supports students with meeting program requirements, policies and procedures, and administrative processes throughout their degree.
Academic and research guidance is provided primarily through supervisors and supervisory committees. Departmental advising is available for program-level questions and administrative support.
Graduate students experiencing issues that affect their academic or research performance are encouraged to first consult their supervisor, supervisory committee or the Graduate Program Director. Students are encouraged to review the problem resolution section of the Graduate Program Policy if issues arise during their studies.

Forms, requests and resources
Graduate students can access departmental policies, procedures and required forms through the department’s Sharepoint site. These materials support key milestones such as supervision, progress reporting and thesis submission.
Academic integrity
All students are expected to uphold the highest standards of academic integrity. Newly admitted graduate students must complete the Academic Success and Integrity Module before the DNE deadline in their first term at Concordia.
Concordia’s Academic Code of Conduct outlines expectations for academic honesty and identifies prohibited behaviours in order to keep the reputations of everyone at Concordia at the highest possible standard.
We encourage our students to trust in their own abilities and when in doubt, to consult a professor or the Code of Conduct.
