Rise and shine for the Mat’Inno conference on the silver economy!
In partnership with the Jeune Chambre de Commerce de Montreal, the Quartier de l’innovation organizes five morning conferences on hot topics throughout the year. The 5th edition on June 17, held at Concordia's York Amphitheater, is about the silver economy and innovation related to seniors and their impact in economic development.
Kim Sawchuk, a professor in Concordia’s Department of Communication Studies and a director of the department’s Mobile Media Lab, is a guest speaker.
She will be speaking about the need for a more detailed understanding of the links between older adults and new media, with specific references to recent studies generated by the project ACT, including work on the presence of grandmothers on Facebook, the use of cellular phones by the elderly, and intergenerational game development at ACT.
