Aviation security needs management personnel with the skills to work in multi-cultural teams and environments. The Aviation Security (AVSEC) Professional Management Course (PMC) is the first one of its kind in the world. This course was created in partnership with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), a specialized agency of the United Nations.
The AVSEC PMC is aligned to ICAO’s strategic objectives and contributes to the Next Generation of Aviation Professionals (NGAP) initiative.

Delivered online (10 weeks) and virtual classroom/onsite (2 weeks), the AVSEC PMC offers an intensive but flexible course load.

The AVSEC PMC is a 12-week programme (2 weeks virtual classroom and 10 weeks online).The content of this course is comprised of 70% security and 30% management. The main objective of the AVSEC PMC is to promote the use of management principles and best practices relevant to the field of AVSEC by applying training strategies.Ideal candidates include:
Relevant government employees
Civil aviation industry managers
Third party industry partners and suppliers
This programme is compatible with a full-time job, but it requires an average of 15 to 20 hours per week of work. This includes:
Online supervised learning and readings (10 weeks)
Virtual classroom or onsite learning on week one and week twelve
Individual work and teamwork through a web-based communication platform
The admission requirements for the course are:
At least two years of work experience
A position that includes managerial responsibilities
Involvement in the field of aviation security (or potential involvement in such functions)
A keen desire to hone your managerial skills related to airport security

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate signed by representatives from the John Molson School of Business – Concordia University and the International Civil Aviation Organization.
Participants are responsible for all costs related to travel and accommodation, and for securing necessary travel documents including visas and travel insurance if applicable.
