Resume and Cover Letter

Your resume and cover letters are your personal sales tools to market your qualifications to prospective employers. Learn the key ingredients to a well-written resume and cover letter and how to make your skill-based resume stand out among the competition.

Interviewing

Get the job you want by learning how to sell your skills and accomplishments to potential employers during the interview process. This clinic will cover everything you need to know about interviewing, from preparation and planning to what questions to ask and how to follow up after the interview.

Job Search Strategy

Looking for a job requires lots of organization and careful planning. You'll learn the basics on how to plan your job-search, including setting goals, researching employers , preparing your documents, dressing for success and preparing yoru elevator speech.

Negotiating a Job Offer

How should you respond when offered a position? What can you negotiate for? Let's discuss what to think about and do when you receive that offer. There is a lot to consider!

CACEE Form

CACEE is a form used by accounting firms who are recognized by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) as organizations who can provide the 2 year requirement for CA designation. At the end of September these firms accept applications from students who require the 2 years of work experience for CA designation. Why wait until September to prepare your CACEE form? Start now and avoid the rush in September by coming to the CACEE clinic at Career Management Services. The CACEE clinic will provide you with tips on what employers expect to see on CACEE forms and what you can do today to better prepare your form for September.

Drop In

Students are seen on a 'first come first serve' basis. Space is limited and you will have a 15 minute time frame to meet with a CMS team member. Please keep in mind that we do not edit documentation. If you have questions about an application, your resume, a cover letter, interviewing, negotiating your job offer or any other career related question, please be prepared for your 15 minute meeting. NOTE: If you are requesting a review of a cover letter for a specific position, we highly recommend you bring your resume and the job ad, so that we can better assist you.
