ARTH 354 Studies in Interdisciplinarity in the Visual Arts
- Instructor: Dr. Anna-Maria Moubayed
This course explores the intersections of pilgrimage and art across cultures and periods, from medieval art and architectural programs to contemporary installations and digital works. It analyzes how pilgrimage has shaped visual and material cultures and how contemporary artists reflect, critique, or reimagine pilgrimage through diverse media. Through case studies across religious traditions and global geographies, students will critically examine art as a response to movement, memory, ritual, and transcendence.
