FOOD COOP
Tom Boothe / France / 2016 / 97 ' / English / s.t. French
In the middle of an economic crisis, in the shadow of Wall Street, an institution that represents a less well-known American tradition is booming: The Park Slope Food Coop, a co-operative supermarket where all 16,000 members work 3 hours per month to earn the right to buy the best food in New York at incredibly low prices. Inspiring as much hatred as enthusiasm, this co-op founded in 1973 is probably the best-implemented socialist experience in the United States.
