Brian T. Counihan Scholarship for Outstanding Contribution to Student Life
This scholarship was established in honour of Brian T. Counihan’s contributions to student life over his 25 years as the first Dean of Students of Concordia University.
This scholarship is awarded based on scholastic achievement combined with outstanding contribution to student life.

Lambda School Tuition Award
The Lambda Scholarship Foundation was established to financially aid LGBTQ2I students registered in a postsecondary degree. It is a volunteer-driven organization with board members drawn from the community, government, and academia. This award is open to any qualifying student who is an active member in the Queer Concordia student group.

The Laura Smyth Groening Scholarship For Indigenous Students
The Laura Smyth Groening award for Indigenous Students was established by the generosity of Emily McDonald in memory of her mom Laura Smyth Groening (1949-2016). Laura was an associate professor in the Department of English and over the course of an accomplished career authored many books and inspired many students. She was a strong believer in social equity and of particular importance to her were the rights and welfare of indigenous peoples.
This scholarship is reserved for newly admitted full-time and part-time Indigenous students of Canada in any faculty at Concordia University.

Queen of Angels Academy Foundation Memorial Award
Open to students who are newly admitted to a bachelor’s program. Applications must either be a Queen of Angels Academy alumna, have been enrolled at the Queen of Angels Academy in 2013-2014, or is a child or grandchild of a Queen of Angels Academy alumna.

Garnet Key Entrance Award
The Garnet Key Entrance Award is intended to encourage and reward students pursuing an undergraduate degree program at the University, whose commitment and spirit towards community involvement and academic excellence reflect the values exemplified by Garnet Key Society.
This award is open to new students only, enrolled in any bachelor’s degree program.

The Colors of Concordia Award
This award was established in 2005 through the fundraising efforts of members and friends of the Colors of Concordia Team, which has had over 200 participants from 62 countries in Montréal’s annual Tour de l’Ile for several years. The guiding philosophy of the Colors of Concordia Team, and the Colors of Concordia Award, resides in promoting awareness, cooperation, cultural integration, and communication, and the bringing together of different cultural communities.
As such, the purpose of this award is to encourage and reward a full-time students enrolled in a bachelor’s program at Concordia, who has demonstrated initiative in trying to unite people from different cultures (religious, ethnic, sovereign) and who remains committed to promoting cultural integration.

Leadership in Sustainability Shuffle Award
Created in 2019 by the Shuffle 30 team known as “Shuffle for the Climate”, this in-course scholarship is awarded to a high-performing student who is in a sustainability undergraduate program (details on the form) and who demonstrates sustainability leadership on campus
The Scholarship shall be granted through competition, based on academic merit, among full or part-time students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree at the University within the specific Sustainability-related programs, and meeting the requirements listed in the application form

Loyola Foundation Inc. Entrance Scholarship
These scholarships were created through several endowment funds established by numerous donors wishing to support Loyola College. Their donations became part of the Loyola Foundation shortly after its creation in 1973 to be used for objectives, activities and purposes that would foster and maintain the tradition and spirit of Loyola College. At its closure in 2003, the Loyola Foundation Inc. created a permanent endowment at Concordia University which will fund the Loyola Foundation Inc. Entrance Scholarship program, honour the generosity of its donors, carry on the tradition and spirit of Loyola College, and recognize the academic excellence and good character of Loyola High School graduates in perpetuity.

Susan Levin-Woods Scholarship
This award was established in 1988 by Susan Levin-Woods, a graduate of Concordia University. This scholarship is available to a Canadian woman who has demonstrated excellence in her studies and who is pursuing a degree on a full or part-time basis, while following a career path or bringing up a family.

Vincent, Olga and Denis Nicolas-Diniacopoulos Scholarships
The Vincent, Olga and Denis Nicolas-Diniacopoulos Scholarships Program was created in 2000 through the generosity of the late Mrs. Olga Nicolas-Diniacopoulos. Her son, the late Professor Denis Diniacopoulos, taught at Concordia University in the department of Communication Studies for over twenty years, until his retirement in 1996.
These annual scholarships are intended to encourage excellent full-time students who are pursuing their undergraduate studies at Concordia University in a Major, Specialization, or Honours, in the areas of Classics, Communication Studies, Mathematics or Psychology. In addition, the purpose of these scholarships is to encourage students who express and can demonstrate an interest in interdisciplinary studies.

Nawaf Al-Rufaie Scholarship in Communication Studies
This scholarship for full-time students in Communication Studies was established in 2006 in memory of Nawaf Al-Rufaie, by his family. The Nawaf Al-Rufaie Scholarship in Communication Studies is intended to encourage and reward talented Communication Studies students at Concordia University who exemplify the characteristics of Nawaf Al-Rufaie, BA Communication Studies 2004.
Nawaf was a beloved member of the Montreal music community, a dear son, brother and uncle, as well as an ambitious student with a great passion for education, the arts and social justice. Through his friends and family, Nawaf's pioneering creativity continues to inspire and empower many people. He left a lasting legacy that is remembered by all that knew him."

La bourse in Memoriam Kelly Oliel Award
La bourse in memoriam Kelly Oliel Award was created by the Département d’études françaises to honour the memory of former student Kelly Oliel, who passed away in July 2022 after a valiant battle with Ewing's sarcoma. The Award will assist an undergraduate student who, like Kelly, combines strong academic achievement with participation in Department and volunteer activities.

Global News Scholars Award
The Global News Scholars Award is granted through competition, based on academic merit, demonstrated academic excellence and involvement in causes within the Black community. The award is open to students in journalism, with preference to students who can demonstrate their involvment in causes within the Black community through a one-page statement.
Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee made up of the Chair of the Journalism department or delegate, as Chair the selection committee, with two other members of the Journalism Department. The selection committee will review the applications and recommend the recipients to the Undergraduate Awards and Awards Committee (USAC) via Financial Aid and Awards (FAAO)

Gregory John Barker Award
This award was established by the family and friends of Gregory John Barker, BFA Music 2008 With Distinction, in his memory. Gregory John Barker was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend to many. He embraced life fully with great cheerfulness, single-mindedness, resourcefulness, and rugged independence. He was never satisfied with the status quo but always moved forward to face new challenges and to seek new pathways. He stubbornly danced to his own drum, often ignoring traditional conventions. Fully bilingual, he was very sociable and engaged readily with people.

Heather and Erin Walker Humanitarian Award
This award was established in 1995 by the Faculty of Fine Arts through the donations of colleagues and friends to honour the memories of Heather Walker and her daughter, Erin. An academic advisor in the Office of Student Affairs of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Heather Walker represented our best attitude toward students and both she and her daughter, Erin, were dedicated to humanitarian organizations such as Families for Children, Development and Peace and H.O.P.E.
Awarded annually to a full- or part-time student enrolled in a Bachelor of Fine Arts, selection is made by the Office of Student Affairs, Faculty of Fine Arts based on demonstration of humanitarian service while in the pursuit of excellence in academic, artistic, and community service or related endeavours.

Heather Walker Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 1995 by the Faculty of Fine Arts through the donations of colleagues and friends. Heather Walker was an academic advisor in the Office of Student Affairs and she represented our best attitude toward students. She graduated with a BFA in Cinema in 1980, and obtained a second BFA in Photography in 1988. Heather pursued successful artistic activities in Photography and was dedicated to humanitarian organizations such as Families for Children, Development and Peace and H.O.P.E.
This scholarship is available to all full- or part-time students in Photography. The recipient is selected by the Office of Student Affairs, Faculty of Fine Arts, on the basis of artistic and academic achievement, and on commitment to humanitarian activities.

Truax Awards in Electroacoustic Music
The Truax Award in Electroacoustic Music is supported by the Glenfraser Concordia Endowment, established in 2024 by Simon Fraser University Professor Emeritus Barry Truax and Dr. Guenther Krueger. The award is intended to provide financial support to one or more undergraduate or graduate students at Concordia University who have demonstrated excellence in electroacoustic music composition and research.
Barry Truax is a Professor Emeritus at Simon Fraser University, where he worked with R. Murray Schafer and the World Soundscape Project. He taught courses on sound, audio, and electroacoustic music for 40 years, and directed the Sonic Research Studio. As a composer, he is renowned for his PODX computer music system works and multi-channel soundscape compositions, with over 600 performances worldwide. Barry is a founding member of several organizations including the International Confederation of Electroacoustic Music, the World Forum for Acoustic Ecology, and the Canadian Electroacoustic Community. He has authored books and articles spanning acoustic communication, soundscape analysis, electroacoustic composition, and acoustic ecology.
The Award shall be granted through competition, on the basis of outstanding academic achievement and creative excellence in electroacoustic music composition and research, as assessed by the University.

Peter Kruyt Award for Student Leadership and Engagement
This scholarship was established in 1987 by his family to honour the memory of Peter Kent Matthews, who passed away in 1986.
This award is available to all full-time Computer Science students who have completed a minimum of thirty (30) credits in the program, and are entering the second or final year of their undergraduate program, or entering the first or second year of a Master's program.

Michael V. Richardson Case Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2021 by Michael V. Richardson to give back to the JMSB community that made his university experience so enriching. Mr. Richardson is a former CASA President, Concordia Senator, Valedictorian and Concordia Medal recipient, and continues to be involved in coaching the case competition program, providing future leaders the same mentorship he was fortunate to receive during his time at JMSB. This scholarship recognizes students who demonstrated outstanding impact and leadership by participating in case competitions during their undergraduate degree at JMSB.

RGA Life Reinsurance Company of Canada Scholarship
The RGA Scholarship program aims to recognize outstanding University students, as well as assist in efforts to advance EDI in our communities which we live and work. Brian T. Counihan Scholarship for Outstanding Contribution to Student Life
This award was established in 1995 in honour of Brian T. Counihan's contributions to student life over his 25-year tenure as the first Dean of Students of Concordia University. This scholarship is awarded, at the discretion of the Undergraduate Scholarships and Awards Committee and upon recommendation by a staff member, in recognition of contribution to student life and academic achievement, to a student, without restriction to level of study, student status or citizenship.

Truax Awards in Electroacoustic Music / Glenfraser-Concordia Endowment
The Truax Award in Electroacoustic Music is supported by the Glenfraser Concordia Endowment, established in 2024 by Simon Fraser University Professor Emeritus Barry Truax and Dr. Guenther Krueger. The award is intended to provide financial support to one or more undergraduate or graduate students at Concordia University who have demonstrated excellence in electroacoustic music composition and research.
Barry Truax is a Professor Emeritus at Simon Fraser University, where he worked with R. Murray Schafer and the World Soundscape Project. He taught courses on sound, audio, and electroacoustic music for 40 years, and directed the Sonic Research Studio. As a composer, he is renowned for his PODX computer music system works and multi-channel soundscape compositions, with over 600 performances worldwide. Barry is a founding member of several organizations including the International Confederation of Electroacoustic Music, the World Forum for Acoustic Ecology, and the Canadian Electroacoustic Community. He has authored books and articles spanning acoustic communication, soundscape analysis, electroacoustic composition, and acoustic ecology.
The Award shall be granted through competition, on the basis of outstanding academic achievement and creative excellence in electroacoustic music composition and research, as assessed by the University.

Peter Matthews Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 1987 by his family to honour the memory of Peter Kent Matthews, who passed away in 1986. This award is available to all full-time Computer Science students who have completed a minimum of thirty (30) credits in the program, and are entering the second or final year of their undergraduate program, or entering the first or second year of a Master's program.
Candidates must demonstrate community service and involvement in addition to academic excellence.

Canadian-Ukraine Foundation (CUF)
The CUF Bursary Fund for Displaced Post-Secondary Ukrainian Students will provide financial assistance to displaced Ukrainians enrolled in Canadian post-secondary learning institutions.
An initial $300,000 contribution by the Canada-Ukraine Foundation to the CUF Bursary Fund will allow for 60 successful applicants to be awarded $5,000 each toward their post-secondary costs.
