Dear Concordians,

Welcome back. I hope you had a restful vacation with your loved ones and are ready to help carry our momentum from last year right through 2016 and beyond.

On that note, among the many messages I receive from proud alumni and friends of Concordia, I was especially pleased to get a letter from Rosalie Williams, great-granddaughter of Sir George Williams, a couple of months ago.

Her note was encouraging — she expressed her support and pride in what we’ve been doing for the past few years and the direction our community is taking together.

Ms. Williams is right — we have much to be proud of. This past year has been our best ever for research funding, for philanthropic donations and for university rankings in Canada and around the globe.

Together, as a community, we have all made this happen. Take pride in your role in making our university shine.

Pride is so central to our continued momentum that it’s one of our nine strategic directions. My thanks to all of you who have taken the time to participate in this important initiative, our ongoing broad consultation process to roadmap Concordia’s future together.

All the best for 2016,

Alan Shepard
President
