We are very proud of our two recent PhD students, Maxime Lamothe and Rabe Abdalkareem,  who will be starting faculty positions in Canada.

Maxime Lamothe graduated in December 2020 under the supervision of Dr. Weiyi Shang. He will be joining Ecole Polytechnique as an Assistant Professor in Fall 2021. Software programs nowadays are built heavily depending on available APIs. However, the ever more complex APIs and the need for fast evolution of APIs pose new challenges to both API developers and users. Maxime's thesis provides automated techniques to tell users of APIs how to better use the APIs and tell developers of APIs how to design better APIs to be easily used.

Rabe Abdalkareem graduated in June 2019 under the supervision of Dr. Emad Shihab. He will be joining Carleton University as an Assistant Professor in Fall 2021. His work uses historical project data to better understand what and how software practitioners use the crowd and build techniques to help practitioners effectively take advantage of crowd resources.

Congratulations Maxime and Rabe! We wish you the best!
