In QUESCREN's most recent Researcher Profile, we present an engaging interview with Glenn Patterson, a PhD candidate in Ethnomusicology at Memorial University. He talks about his work on documenting and celebrating the musical culture and heritage of the diverse English-speaking communities throughout Quebec. 

“I’ve found that local music is often at the heart of community life and social action in many of Quebec’s English-speaking communities such that it’s hard to imagine their community’s vitality without music,” he remarks.

Dans notre tout récent portrait de chercheur-membre de QUESCREN, nous présentons un entretien intéressant avec Glenn Patterson, candidat au doctorat en ethnomusicologie à l’Université Memorial. Il parle de son travail de documentation et de célébration de la culture et du patrimoine musicaux des diverses communautés anglophones de partout au Québec. 

« J’ai constaté que la musique locale est souvent au cœur de la vie communautaire et de l’action sociale dans de nombreuses communautés anglophones du Québec, si bien qu’il est difficile d’imaginer la vitalité de ces communautés sans la musique, » dit-il.
