Trailer for 2040 by Damon Gameau (2020)

Join the Office of Sustainability and the Climate Emergency Committee in the department of Geography, Planning and Environment for movie night! In the 2020 hybrid feature documentary 2040 by Damon Gameau, we are faced with the question: What could the world look like for the next generation if we implemented solutions available to us right now?

Motivated by concerns about the planet his 4-year-old daughter would inherit, Damon embarked on a global journey to meet innovators and changemakers in the areas of economics, technology, civil society, agriculture, education and sustainability. Drawing on their expertise, he sought to identify the best solutions, available to us now, that would help improve the health of our planet and the societies that operate within it.

Join us for this film and a moderated discussion with the Office of Sustainability and the Climate Emergency Committee, as we discover solutions that could not only save our planet but make it a better place to live!

Note that strict COVID-19 measures will be in place, including limited registration to ensure adequate social distancing in the theatre, mandatory procedural masks (which will be available at the doors), and a valid COVID-19 passport or proof of vaccination.

This event is part of Campus Sustainability Month at Concordia, a month-long series of events, activities, and giveaways.
