Not everyone can become an entrepreneur or a real estate baron; the rest of us need to use the savings and investment tools available to us to achieve financial stability.
A Tax-Free Savings Account (TFSA) can be one of the most powerful financial tools available to students and young professionals – but many people aren’t sure how it actually works or how to get started.
In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll learn the fundamentals of the TFSA, including contribution limits, tax-free growth, and how a TFSA can support both short- and long-term financial goals. You’ll also explore simple ways to start investing within a TFSA using tools like ETFs and robo-advisors.
Designed for students with little or no investing experience, this session will help you build the confidence to take your first practical steps toward saving and investing.
Facilitator: Sam Oubadia, CFA, MBA, Lecturer - Department of Finance, JMSB
