This webinar will explore strategies and questions around navigating challenging moments that can emerge in the classroom. Often referred to as H-O-T moments (heated, offensive or tense), these can range from controversial topics to disruptive behaviours. This session is designed to help instructors feel more prepared when these arise in classroom, and will cover:
- How to notice tension, conflict, and charged discussions
- Examples of H-O-T moments
- Understanding the impact of these moments on students and learning strategies to address these moments
