Adrian Norvid’s The Bejesus is comprised of large format drawings, narrative tableaus, paper simulations, and found objects that collectively explore decrepitude and the hapless. The exhibition is centered around a portabletheatre set: The Little Black Bumhole Opera. The BumholeOpera set is emblazoned with drawings and motifs that parody the macabre—a sort of fusion of the funereal camp of Victorian pseudo gothic culture and the excesses of Black and Death Metal. The theatre will be a site for the artist’s interventions over the course of the exhibition and the props and performance paraphernalia will be on continuous view.Norvid’s performances involve recitals of text and live, crude electronic soundscapes interwoven with the manipulation of elaborate paper props and gags.

The Little Black Bumhole Opera Presents
Lord Muck Performing Opus Chokeus
A dark-as-molasses sonic exploration of Parlance, Utterance and Vehemence, including:
the varieties of Scottish Shortbread and the laying waste of a perfectly good yard of tartan;
beating on various not entirely resonant surfaces and a lot of fiddling with buttons and knobs;
a brief, entirely misconstrued excerpt from the Who’s 1970’s rock opera Tommy;
and a dirty little bit of burned toast by way of conclusion.
One and all are welcome but be forewarned, all views are partially obstructed and there is nowhere to sit. There is no intermission either but it is not too hard to sneak out, as Lord Muck will barely be registering your presence.

L’opéra Little Black Bumhole présente
Lord Muck
Les variétés de sablés écossais et les lambeaux d’une étoffe à carreaux tout à fait correcte;
un tambourinage sur diverses surfaces pas toujours très résonnantes, et beaucoup de bricolage avec poignées et boutons;
un court extrait tout à fait mal interprété de Tommy, opéra rock des années 1970 du groupe The Who;
